I already shared this story but here again is my story. WHAT ARE YOUR FUNNY PARKIE MOMENTS?
Though i have never fainted, i have had 2 close parkie friends who have regularly. One was as colleague at Tx A&M University-Commerce. The first time she fainted was at a time she was engaged in a on-going and rather rancorous academic battle witn her dean. One day she fainted dead away, hit the floor hard, and generally lost the battle with the concrete. When she began to come tto, blood everywhere, she in a dazed state told emt's to call me as I would undrstand her needs, being a fellow Parkie. I went to the hospital with her bruised and bloody body and ego for stitches, meds, and observation.
Well, word got around the campus rather quickly. In a short time, her very concerned-appearing department chair arrived in ER and asked her what had happened? She was so embarassed about all the atttention that I, intending to add some levity to the situation, said "She saw the dean outside her building, and was mooning him from her second floor office when she lost her balance and fell out." Well we 3 burst into outrageous laughter, with my banged-up friend crying out in the midst of convulsive laughs "ooh, ow, no, don't make me laugh, ooh, ow, it hurts" from the pain it caused her injured rib-cage..
Within an hour, a wild rumor about how this very proper Scottish professor had banged herself up spread across the campus bringing chagrin to my friend and a kind of perverse glee to me.
